19-year old Jerusalemite Eden Alene will be Israel’s representative at the Eurovision song contest this year. The resident of the capital’s Katamon neighborhood will be the first person of Ethiopian descent to represent Israel in the international contest, after she won the Kochav Haba reality earlier show this week.
Eden actually won’s Israel’s X-factor singing competition two years ago, but now she is really becoming a national hero.
What’s next? In early March, Eden will perform a few new songs on a televised event, and viewers will be asked to vote to choose which one she’ll sing for Eurovision. Stay tuned for details…
