Shai Dan runs United Hatzalah operations in the city of Netivot, one of Israel’s most challenging cities when it comes to EMS. Not only are they far away from any hospital but they are close to the Gaza border where rocket and Qassam attacks occur frequently. add to that that often all of the ambulances are out of the city and you are left with a team that has to fill the gap of care between the time of an injury and a possibly lengthy transport to the hospital. the emergency care that they give will be the difference between life and death.
