Yisroel Cohen is an EMT who participates in a very special project called “Ten Kavod” or “Giving Honor” in English, wherein, trained EMTs visit elderly persons living on their own at least once per week to provide them with companionship and free medical checkups. The program aims to alleviate two problems, one medical issues that go untreated among the elderly, and the second alleviating loneliness that many elderly people feel.

As many of the patients visited in this program are Holocaust survivors, we felt that this project, and Yisroel as a participant was a fitting video to feature today on Holocaust Remembrance Day, Yom Hashoah.
