On July 22, 2018, the IDF took part in a top secret mission to bring members of the White Helmet organization and their families to safety. The White Helmets—a group of civilians in Syria—worked to rescue and treat injured civilians who had been affected by the Syrian conflict over the last decade.
When the lives of the members of the White Helmets were in imminent danger, the IDF received an important request from the US, Canada, and several European countries to evacuate them from Syria and take them to safety. Upon the request, the IDF launched a life-saving mission that brought hundreds of members of the White Helmets and their families to safety.
