On the 3rd of Tishrei, in the days of Nebuchadnezzar, our last Jewish leader Gedaliya ben Achikam was assassinated in Judah. This marked the beginning of our long wait for a return to autonomous rule and the rebuilding of our holy Temple in Jerusalem.
Having returned to our homeland, with our own leadership, the stage is set for mashiach to come and that we may rebuild our Temple in Jerusalem, speedily in our days.
