In a time of great tragedy in the Jewish people, the spirit of Messianism runs rampant. This is because before the coming of the Messiah, we must pass through difficult times- like the travails of a woman in labor before the birth.

Unfortunately, these terrible, terrible tragedies, were sometimes followed by false Messianism- which brought even more destruction.
