And I was startled to realize how much my way of thinking about spirituality, and my understanding of my Jewish spiritual practice, got rearranged when I became a mom for the first time. The deeper I got into it, the more I realized that my parenting was more influenced by Judaism than I realized, and that my taking the work of raising small kids seriously was also having a pretty big impact on my thinking about, and understanding of, Judaism itself.”
