More now than ever, our world needs us to be better people — to show grace, compassion and kindness. This is the central theme of SIM SHALOM — the Jewish prayer passed down for centuries.

This summer, we at Six13 asked our friends and fans around the world to join in song and celebration with us to hammer that message home in our setting of this beautiful text. We couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve created together.

As summer draws to a close, let’s all look back on the good times, and forward to Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, the time of year where we look inward and resolve to be better people and make the world that much better.

Shana tova!

This song and all Six13 songs are completely a cappella — created with nothing but the human voice.

Anchored by a strong Jewish identity and driven by a mission to connect Jews around the globe with their heritage through music, professional Jewish a cappella group Six13 are the originators of today’s Jewish a cappella sound. They’ve performed to rave reviews for millions of people — at synagogues, religious schools, major sports events, JCCs, fundraising events, B’nai Mitzvah and private affairs alike, received numerous awards for their five best-selling CDs, and been selected as finalists for casting in NBC’s “The Sing-Off”. Sim shalom tovah u’v’rachah
(Grant peace, goodness and blessing)
chein v’chesed v’rachamim aleinu
(grace, kindness and mercy to us)
v’al kol Yisrael amecha
(and to all Your people Israel)

Grace and kindness, we will find this within us
Those despairing: we’re repairing the world with love
Those in crisis, paying prices: we see you
Silenced voices, without choices: we hear your cries

Torat chaim v’ahavat chesed
(You gave us a Torah of life, and love of kindness)
U’tz’dakah u’vrachah
(charity and blessing)
v’rachamim v’chayim v’shalom
(mercy, life and peace)
V’tov b’einecha l’varech et amecha Yisrael
(And may it be good in Your eyes to bless your people Israel)
b’chol eit u’v’chol sha’ah bish’lomecha
(at all times, and in every hour, with Your peace)
