Jeremiah, the prophet from Anathoth, campaigns tenaciously against corruption in the court of King Jehoiakim. He warns that Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylonia, will destroy the Kingdom of Judah if it doesn’t mend its ways. But Jehoiakim and his officials refuse to listen. The film reconstructs the Royal Quarter where the royal officials lived and worked. A fascinating simulation shows us the opulent homes and luxurious items uncovered by archaeologists in the City of David. The most important find is the royal archives (Bullae House), where the archaeologist Yigal Shiloh uncovered 51 bullae (seal impressions) in ancient Hebrew script, including bullae of royal officials mentioned explicitly in the Bible.
