Children whose parents are seriously ill shoulder heavy emotional burdens all year. They live in constant fear of Mommy or Daddy leaving them. They deal with the realities of disease on a daily basis. Their home life is stressful and may lack basic necessities. These children desperately need the break that summer camp provides, and the change to laugh, run, and play without the burden of illness on their shoulders. Camp4ever! is their opportunity to regroup and gain the tools they need to thrive despite the challenges ahead.
Hundreds of children who have a sick mother or father are given a camp experience to help them laugh, grow, and heal. Days packed with excitement and nights full of support and camaraderie create a magical atmosphere in a warm and accepting environment. Peers sharing similar challenges give each other a sense of belonging and stability. One-on-one counselors, hand-picked and specially trained, give children the security to take crucial steps towards confidence and inner strength. Campers form deep connections, and support each other through the turbulence of illness all year long.

Chai4ever provides emotional and practical support for families dealing with the acute or chronic illness of a parent. We understand that when a parent becomes incapacitated due to illness, it can throw the entire family into crisis. We seek to mitigate the repercussions of parental illness by surrounding families with the care and support they need to maintain a stable and functional home life.
