The civil war that broke out in Jerusalem in the late Second Temple period and led to the destruction of the Temple did not arise in a vacuum. Hostility between different groups had mounted over the years due to social, religious, and political polarization. Using authentic reconstructions of the opulent homes of the priestly aristocracy in the Upper City, the film illustrates the tension between the two parts of the city and the dramatic moments that led to a violent rift and the consequent destruction of Jerusalem 2000 years ago.
