Today is Yom Hazikaron (Memorial Day), and we chose to sing this song, “Oz Ve’anava” (Courage and Humility). The song was written in memory of Hadar Goldin z”l, a young soldier who was killed in 2014 in Gaza during operation “Protective Edge”. Hadar was never returned to Israel for burial, and his body still remains in the hands of Hamas. Today, when so many around the country visit the cemeteries throughout Israel, we join his family in memory and pain, and pray that he will soon be returned to our land and receive the burial he deserves.
